Experience World-Class Golf Inspired by the Beauty of Nature
Big Cedar Lodge is quickly becoming known as America's Next Great Golf Destination, with courses designed by some of the top names in golf: Tiger Woods, Tom Fazio, Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer, Tom Watson, Gary Player, Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw.
Along with these legendary names, Johnny Morris is changing and growing the game of golf while incorporating the beauty of the Ozarks into every shot. Book a tee time today and rediscover what the game is all about.
One of only two par-3 courses to be used in official competition in a PGA TOUR sanctioned event, Top of the Rock features nature and golf at its finest. Perched high above Table Rock Lake, the peaceful waterfalls, wandering creeks, bass filled ponds and pristine lakes of Top of the Rock complete a true celebration of nature, the Ozarks and the game of golf.
Already acclaimed as one of the region’s top golf courses by GOLF Magazine and Golf Digest, Buffalo Ridge has been transformed by the guiding hands of visionary conservationist Johnny Morris and renowned golf course architect Tom Fazio. Morris and Fazio have redesigned the course layout to bring players in close contact with nature, native grasses and free-ranging buffalo from nearby Dogwood Canyon Nature Park.
Bass Pro Shops founder and noted conservationist Johnny Morris has teamed up with golf icon Gary Player to create a world-class 13-hole short course that delivers an unparalleled experience for golfers. Sharing a similar passion for nature and golf, and through a joined pioneering spirit, they created a renowned golf experience for all skill levels. The course routes through unforgettable, 300-million year old rock formations and includes some of the most dramatic views in the Ozarks, while delivering a rewarding experience for all skill levels.
Coming to Big Cedar Golf in 2018 is the 18-hole Ozarks National Course. The golf course architect team of Bill Coore & Ben Crenshaw shares Johnny Morris’ passion and appreciation for nature and conservation, and they have designed a championship course to connect golfers with nature. The design of this course will be a striking display of the senses and a fitting tribute to the Ozarks region. It will test avid players and golf travelers from around the country and provide the perfect complement to the existing 18-hole layout at Buffalo Ridge Springs.
Scheduled to open in 2019 and named in honor of the late Payne Stewart, the new Payne’s Valley will be the first completed fully public-access course in the world designed by Tiger Woods’ design firm TGR Design. Built to showcase the region’s natural beauty, the championship course will feature an extraordinarily dramatic 19th hole, “The Rock,” that can be used to settle unfinished wagers. The hole was envisioned by nature-loving Johnny Morris, and is set in one of the most dramatic geological features imaginable. The challenging but player-friendly walkable course will have an unforgettable finish where golfers will actually traverse through a breathtaking natural cavern system to return to the clubhouse after completing the 19th hole.

Big Cedar would ultimately become a place for all families to reconnect with each other in the Great Outdoors. Today, the resort offers access to world-class recreational facilities including Top of the Rock, the Bass Pro Shops headquarters in nearby Springfield, Dogwood Canyon Nature Park and the all-new Bass Pro Shops’ Outdoor Shooting Academy.
